With a name more reminiscent of a movie star than a footballer, Berkley Cox was a crowd favourite at Princes Park in his 102 games from 1958 to 1965. A small, yet tenacious and reliable centreman, he often tagged more skillful opponents out of matches.

Recruited from Tasmanian club City South, he wore guernsey number 9, stood 175cm tall and weighed in at 77 kg. He kicked 45 career goals and was among the Blues’ best in our 1962 Grand Final loss to Essendon.

    Fast and determined in attacki we’re his trademark s. An excellent centre player as well as half forward . He and John Nicholls were my favourites as well as Leo brereton .

    I remember you with much warmth. My dad was Reg Duggan. He was both supporter and friend. I was about 10 years old when you looked after me and my brother whilst my mum was in hospital. You were so kind. I hope this message gets to you. Thank you.

  3. When you looked after us , as I mentioned, the year was around 1959-1960. I moved to Sweden in 1970. I am 73. Dad died in 1985 as you may already know. My mum passed away last year on 22nd January at the age of 94. You were good to me. Thank you 🙂
